Cellar Wine Review: 2014 Catena Alta Historic Rows Cabernet Sauvignon

Price: $45-55

The Basics: Raspberry nose is fairly plain, without complexity.  Palate is full bodied but bitter and uninteresting with a heavy leather and tobacco taste.  Medium plus tannin.  Medium plus acidity.

Rating: 86 points

My take: The rating reflects the price point and I was underwhelmed and disappointed.  This is too bad because its from one of my favorite vineyards.

Bottom line: Maybe a bad bottle?  Really hoping a few more years in the cellar helps.  😦
