Table Wine Review: 2015 Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon

IMG_3288

Price: $10.99-12.99 (I have even seen it for $8.99 some places)

The Basics: Nose is nice, a combo of plum and vanilla, nothing spectacular, but not boring either.  Palate is smooth, inviting, wonderful balance of texture and fruit.  And there is a smokey, almost savory finish that pulls you in for more.  Medium plus tannin.  Medium acidity.

Rating: 91 points

My take: This is the definition of excellent value wine.  A Columbia Valley gem and another standout from Columbia Crest, which is quickly becoming one of the most dependable vineyards on the west coast.  For me this wine towers above some of those 4-5x it’s price.

Bottom line: Go get this wine, it’s beyond good for the price!  And while you are at it get another bottle, you will thank me later.
