Step 1: Chop garlic and herbs

Step 2: Place Garlic, Herbs, 1/2 squeezed lemon, and olive oil (about 1/2 cup) in zip lock freezer bag

Step 3: Peel and Devein (if not already) Shrimp
*Just a note here: you also could keep shell on shrimp (you have to always devein though), but it really depends on your crowd.  My wife and kids do not like to peel and eat the shrimp.  Grilling in the shell gives a great flavor and I love to peel and eat good shrimp, but it’s a bit messy and requires eating with your hands

Step 4: Place shrimp in ziplock freezer bag and mix, then place in refrigerator
*This is best done 1-2 hours prior to grilling.  I would not do this overnight or for an extended period of time.  My personal preference is not to marinate shrimp very long, I just don’t like the flavor longer marinate times seems to impart to the shrimp.

Step 5:  Start your fire (wondering how to do this check this out: How to start your woodfire grill)

Step 6:  Once fire is ready place shrimp onto grill
*Note: you could also skewer them which I will do if the shrimp are smaller but these were U15’s so they really didn’t need the support a wooden skewer would be used for

Step 7: Grill about 2 minutes then flip over to the other side for another 1-2 minutes

Step 8:  At the very end of the cook, use the other 1/2 lemon and squeeze onto shrimp

That’s it.  Pictured here with roasted potatoes and charred asparagus
